1 MIN AGO: Underwater Drone Went Inside the Titanic — And the Footage is Beyond Terrifying!
Reef Report
On September 15, 1942, the aircraft carrier USS Wasp was struck by three Japanese torpedoes in the South Pacific. Within thirty-six minutes, Captain Forrest Sherman gave the order to abandon ship. Five hours later, she was scuttled by her own escort destroyer. 193 men died. The ship slipped beneath the waves and disappeared into the abyss. For seventy-seven years, no one knew exactly where she came to rest. The official story was straightforward. The Wasp was a compromised design, a carrier built too small and too light because of treaty limitations. She lacked torpedo protection. She had inadequate firefighting systems. When the torpedoes hit, she never stood a chance. Case closed. Except historians never stopped arguing about it.
